Duration: 20 minutes

● Making connections to classmates’ preferences.
● You can adapt this activity to any structure you are practicing.
● If doing this outside, make sure you have laminated images and plenty to choose from.
* Please note that this lesson plan has been aligned with the ANL.
*Teacher tip: Be aware that if the students have too long to do this activity, they will transfer to speaking in English.
Task 1: Turn and Talk
Students, in pairs, will select a minimum of 3 images that are scattered around the field. They must ask and answer whether they like the object in the image. “Aimes-tu l’ananas?” etc. (Duration 6 minutes)
Variation / Progression:
Task 2: Discussion
Ask students to pair up with a different person and share their findings. The expected responses may include:
« J’aime l’ananas, mais Amanda ne l’aime pas. »
*Teacher tip: Only give groups two or three minutes to discuss their key messages.
